British study: "Beware of young people, cannabis reduces male fertility"

The alarm of the University of Sheffield: take hashish or marijuana under thirty doubles the risk of lower sperm quality and, therefore, significantly reduce the chance of having a child

LONDON - Cannabis reduces male fertility. The warning is the English universities of Sheffield, who, as reported by the Independent, led "the largest study on sperm quality." In summary, according to the thesis of the research, assume cannabis under thirty doubles the risk of producing abnormal sperm and, therefore, significantly reduce the fertility of men. For British scholars, on the contrary, drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes does not seem to have adverse effects on semen and spermatozoa.

THE CLASSIFICATION OF DRUGS IN EUROPE

Professor Allan Pacey of Sheffield University stated that it was not found definitive link between cannabis and sperm degeneration. However, these negative effects would be most evident in young people under the age of thirty years and, according to research published in the British scientific journal Human Reproduction Journal, would be to hold up their cannabis use: "In youth - said Professor Pacey - consumption is larger than the over 30 and this causes a negative impact on sperm quality. "

The study involved 318 men who donated samples of their sperm, and at the same time, provided information on their lifestyle, including details on the consumption of alcohol, drugs and cigarettes. Unlike earlier research, the study of Sheffield University has not linked the drop in male fertility obesity or undergarments are too tight. "We believe that the quality of sperm is reduced just because of a few items, and among these there is cannabis. So, if you are planning to have a child, it is better to give up hashish and marijuana."
